The restaurant’s dining room has a Pacific Islander theme with batik prints, turtle shells, and paintings of natives decorating the walls. Trader Vic’s creative menu specializes in Worldly Cuisine with Polynesian flair and fresh seafood dishes. Famous for smoked delicacies from the Chinese Oven, Trader Vic’s glass-enclosed Chinese wood-fire oven allows guests to watch the cooking process. Trader Vic’s Chinese wood fired oven can be traced to the Han Dynasty (206 BC to AD 20). The heating source, natural smoke and heat, is derived from split Oak or seasoned wood.
